BISCUIT FACTORY

Biscuit Factory

A pipework contractor from Glasgow contacted BM Engineering asking us to supply a baker from a well-known biscuit factory with 2-way and 3-way sanitary ball valves with attached pneumatic actuators, as well as a steam skid system. This equipment was going to be used in the process of melting chocolate and caramel. Read on to find out the set-up we suggested to the biscuit factory and what BME equipment ended up assisting in the making of biscuits.

THE CHALLENGE

The baker needed us to provide the steam equipment that heated the product in question (chocolate/caramel) but also needed us to supply the valves used in the pipeline where the product was moving/travelling. The equipment needed to be capable of pumping 10m³/hr of condensate with 10m head.

THE SOLUTION

The solution to this particular request included a condensate recovery steam skid system with two pumps, a vessel, ancillaries (Y-strainers, isolation valves, non-return valves, pressure gauge sets, outlet regulating valves) and a control panel. Below you can see the set up in more detail.
