Bürkert precision valves for chemical applications

In this article, PIF speak to one of Scotland’s leading industrial valve suppliers, BM Engineering Supplies, about the best Bürkert precision valves for chemical applications. BM Engineering have been supplying valves to the engineering industry since 1999 and are a distributor to some of the biggest names in valve manufacturing, including Bürkert, Inoxpa and Orbinox. Read on to find out more.

Bürkert’s cutting-edge selection of valves range from solenoid valves to process and analytical valves. BM Engineering Supplies have a long-standing distributor partnership with Bürkert, which means you don’t have to look far to source their comprehensive range of valves. Bürkert’s extensive experience and expertise in the fluid control sector means that whatever your application, they can offer a valve solution and a uniquely wide-ranging variety of products to handle it – including precision solenoid, process and analytical valves.

Process valves

Burkert’s ELEMENT range proves the adage that the whole is better than the sum of the parts. The ELEMENT range provides a modular programme of process control products that combine effortlessly to deliver solutions to specific process requirements. ELEMENT valves reliably control fluids, steam, caustic solutions and chemicals, as well as abrasive or high-purity substances in the widest range of applications and process environments. The ELEMENT stainless steel valves (IP65/67) in particular are rugged, hygienic and are easy to clean and use.

Analytical valves

Burkert’s Type 6606 direct-acting rocker solenoid valves, with isolating diaphragm (2/2- and 3/2–way), are high quality valves for analytical technology. They have minimal dead volume and internal volume with few crevices making them easy to flush out. The fluid only comes into contact with the body material and the FFKM seal. These valves are ideal for applications involving maximum chemical resistance requirements. The compact and flexible design is perfect for custom manifold assemblies. While other major selling points include high back pressure tightness, excellent cleanability and 100% duty cycle.

Solenoid valves

Bürkert’s pivoted-armature solenoid valve has been providing cost effective, reliable process control solutions for the best part of 50 years now. Pivoted-armature solenoid valves from Bürkert have all three port connections integrated in the body of the valve, which places them all in the same plane, making connection design easier. The valves are equipped with a lockable manual override as standard and have the option of a visual position indicator or an electrical feedback.

Available in 2/2 or 3/2 way configuration, the design uses an isolating diaphragm, which ensures that no fluid is allowed to enter the armature chamber. This innovative solution makes the pivoted armature valve more resistant to contamination than the plunger-type valve. It also offers a higher resistance against aggressive fluids and provides a longer service life, even in non-lube conditions.

This is just a small taste of the wide range Bürkert precision valves for chemical applications. If you would like to learn more about how Bürkert valves can fit into your chemical application, contact BM Engineering today.
